Biografia
.. .......... .. .. .. .. .. .... .. .. Il progetto Maelstrom nasce nell'autunno 2002 come tributo agli Iron Maiden. I concerti ed i consensi riscontrati in locali liguri portano il gruppo alla svolta verso la composizione di brani originali. La formazione definitiva prende stabilità nel 2007 e dà i suoi primi frutti compositivi con il primissimo lavoro in studio "Immortal Fairytales". L’album si evolve in 12 traccie che alternano atmosfere di melodico respiro ad altre decisamente power-prog. I testi, cantati in lingua inglese, hanno per protagonista un personaggio e per filo conduttore le "esperienze" che egli affronta nel suo viaggio. Un CD di esordio, forse ancora acerbo, ma che lascia già intravedere quelle che sono le sonorità e le tendenze attuali della band. .. .. NEWS! Inizia una nuova era per i Maelstrom! Dopo la defezione di tutti i componenti della vecchia formazione Fabrizio Bisignano (fondatore e bassista dei Maelstrom) ha deciso di ricominciare la sua avventura cercando nuovi elementi per questo progetto, a partire da Alessio Zoppi alle tastiere che per primo ha deciso di accompagnarlo in questa sfida. Insieme sono felici di annunciare l'ingresso nella band dei nuovi elementi che completeranno la nuova formazione: Andrea Lotti alla chitarra e Alessio Calandriello alla voce (già membri del progetto Aresius) coadiuvati da Ivan Orocchi alla batteria. .. ..
