It wouldn’t be Wednesday without another story about Lindsay Lohan, and now the troubled icon is back in the news for possibly providing false information to police after a car crash and brief hospitalization last week. (Thankfully she seems to be okay, physically at least.)

According to TMZ, the actress lied to authorities and denied driving the Porshce that crashed into a truck on the Pacific Coast Highway last Friday, insisting that her assistant was driving. However, according to her assistant, Lohan was in fact the one behind the wheel.

We understand why Lohan would want to deny these charges, as they could cause a probation violation in her shoplifting case and put her back in jail. Additionally, Lohan isn’t supposed to be behind the wheel at all and she also had a water bottle of alcohol in her trunk at the time of the accident, although she had no booze in her system.

Legal issues aside, this could be a huge setback as Lohan is seemingly trying to put her career back together via recent appearances on Saturday Night Live and Glee. It seems as if every time she does something constructive, Lohan manages to counter that by doing something careless and immature as an act of self-sabotage which makes us think these problems may have deeper roots.
