After seeing the red band trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, I was convinced this could be one of the most surprisingly enjoyable movies of the summer because of how ridiculous it looked. Now, I’m not so sure. This clip from Yahoo!, which features our 16th President wrecking vampires on top of a moving train, just looks…bad. The editing is confusing, the visual effects look cheap, and the action isn’t even that impressive. Check it out for yourselves below.

If 20th Century Fox is proud enough of this clip to show it off before the film’s release, I’m not sure what to expect from the actual movie. I’m really hoping that this has been cut down from how it will appear in the final product, and maybe we’ll actually end up with a fun film that has enjoyable action sequences and decent visual effects. If things are more like that trailer and less like this clip, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter will turn out just fine. The film opens in theaters on June 22nd, 2012.

Synopsis: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter explores the secret life of our greatest president, and the untold story that shaped our nation. Visionary filmmakers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (director of Wanted) bring a fresh and visceral voice to the bloodthirsty lore of the vampire, imagining Lincoln as history’s greatest hunter of the undead.Tags : Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, benjamin walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, tim burton, Timur BekmambetovPost a comment...
