 Hello dear friends....

Today is a special day in our sacred calendar. It’s one of the 8 Magical sabbats in the year that mark the turning of the tides and the cycles of growth. In the Southern Hemisphere we are celebrating the harvest festival of Lammas. As the summer continues to ripen the grains, we begin to collect and harvest that which we have invested our time and energies into growing. For me this time is perfect to give thanks and celebrate the creation of my new album. Lammas is the first of 3 harvest festivals, (there’s also the Autumn Equinox and Samhain) and it’s kind of fitting that I’m just at this first stage of reaping the rewards, but there’s still more focused work and Magic to be done before I can sit back and rest. ....

This is the time of year that I make sure I bake a loaf of bread in the good old fashioned way, to honour the generosity and fertility of Mother Earth. Last week some Witch sisters and I got together and baked some lovely loaves – all with magical intention and gratitude. And tonight my boyfriend Tim and I have been busy in the kitchen, kneading and shaping our loaves with much laughter and joy. I’m hungry now, and the delicious smell of yeast is permeating the house. Yum, I can’t wait for the feast in an hour or 2.....

And on the opposite side of our beautiful planet I know many of you are celebrating the festival of Imbolc – the first stirring of the seed in the ground after the cold winter. Again it’s a transitional time. Spring is not yet here, but the signs of the change are everywhere. This is a perfect time to call on the fiery energy of Brigit to activate new projects and celebrate new life. You may not see the changes yet, but rest assured that something is going on beneath the surface, preparing to burst forth with the Spring.....

How wonderful it is to see and recognise the balance held in these opposite energies. Without the stirring of the seed at Imbolc, there could be no first harvest 6 months later. And without the harvest, there could be no seed. Life and Death in perfect harmony.....

LAST MINUTE ACOUSTIC GIG THIS SATURDAY IN GIPPSLAND, VICTORIA....

I know this is late notice, but I’m running a private workshop in Gippsland (1 ½ hours from Melbourne) this Saturday afternoon, and decided that while I’m there I’d love to share my music with some of the locals in the area. I’m performing a little concert in a small local hall. Please spread the word if you know anyone in the area, or if you are from Melbourne and would like a trip to the lovely countryside.....
