Tony Cini's Blues Explosion is a 4-hour showcase of some of Australia's top blues and roots acts supported by up-and-coming artists. Blues Explosion was established in April 2008 and has featured some of the country's premier blues and roots performers such as Chase the Sun, Ray Beadle, Marshall and the Fro, Gail Page, Darren Jack, Kim Churchill and Genevieve Chadwick, just to name a few. In response to the declining number of venues catering for blues and roots in Sydney and the surrounding areas, Blues Explosion was created in the hope of rejuvenating the diminishing blues and roots scene by opening doors to venues who previously did not cater for this music. In 2009, Bad Penny Records released the first Blues Explosion CD featuring 12 acts that had performed on a Blues Explosion bill. The purpose of that CD was not only to promote the artists but to provide the venues with a product that showcased them. In the last 3 years, Blues Explosion has become a "must see gig that should not be missed". Blues Explosion has played at a number of venues in Sydney, the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, Central Coast, Hunter Valley and the Central West of New South Wales. The ultimate goal is to establish Blues Explosion Australia-wide. The Blues Explosion CD – Volume 2 was launched at the Vanguard in Newtown, Sydney on Friday, 2 December 2011 with a double-header bill featuring two of Australia's finest blues acts: Chase the Sun / Ray Beadle Band with special guest, the sassy Ali Penney. While Volume 3 will be launched on Saturday, 24 June 2012 featuring the remarkable Mason Rack Band, Marisa Quigley (with special guest Ali Penney) and Isaiah B. Brunt. -

Hey Tony ,
Im great , Yes it has been awhile. Ive just filled out to take annual leave from july 20th - 2nd august because im going to the echuca blues festival . My annual leave will be all used up =( let me know what dates cause id have to see if i could get my shifts covered .

Hi...hope things are well with you. The last two tracks of Underwater Republic project are now online. They're called "Wood Donut" & "Underwater Republic part 2".
