Dear Poets,..Poetry..Family, and Fans

I wanted to write you to affirm what is I'm sure is already out in the
community. I handed over all official duties of PoetCD.com on August 8th,
at the beginning of this year's National Poetry Slam, to Mahogany L.
Browne. She is already in charge of all the orders, writing all the
checks, signing new poets, and paying all the bills. Her plans for the
site are big and her connections in the community are deep so I hope you
will join me in my excitement in what she has done and will do with the
site and how she was by far the best person for this position.

8 and half years ago I was joining the Al Letson, Jr. and Jay Cole and
having a blast on the mic in Jacksonville, Florida. 7 years ago Dwayne
Rayner and I first saw Beau Sia, Celena Glenn, Cristin O'Keefe Aptowicz,
Morris Stegasaurus and Taylor Mali do unbelievable and such moving spoken
word here in NYC before they went on to win NPS the following summer and
inspired what we saw as a burgeoning artform and movement six and half
years ago Dwayne, Al and I founded PoetCD.com, Inc.

Over that time I've personally enjoyed helping support our important art
form and helping it grow but that I will be leaving it in this capacity by
the end of the year since I've been much more involved in the demands of
my legal work and plan to continue to make a difference back in the
practice of law.

Mahogany L. Browne, if you don't know is the a part of the Slam Program at
the world famous Nuyorican Poets Cafe, current host of the Nuyo's
Wednesday Show and producer of two shows during their Tuesday Programming,
Slam Champion Bar 13 2004, a publisher, a teacher, a mother and along
with her partner Jive Poetic of the only Off Broadway Showcase,
JamOnItPoetry.com. As a touring poet who I crossed paths with many times
with when I toured from Oakland, to Austin, to Bristol, to Amsterdam and
many points in between she is the most qualified person to take one of the
World's Leading Spoken Word Sites to a whole nother level. With already
150 of today's leading spoken word artists, an internet radio station with
over 600 tracks you can listen to 24/7, links to 200 other spoken word
sites, including venues and podcasts of poetry, I'm elated on what she
will be able to bring with this extra arrow in her quiver to spoken word
as a whole as it contributes to her legacy and life's work and to what she
will be able to do for spoken word worldwide. Mo will continue my legacy,
running one of the most diverse roster of poetry sites and with her added
skills and relationships, promises to make it so much better.

In the beginning of October, Mahogany has decided to take PoetCD.com from our
current server to another based in NYC, and a company that has hosted and
created sites Katrina Relief and other established entities. You can
continue to count on PoetCD.com to be the go to site for the widest and
most diverse roster of spoken word artists as she will take it to even
greater heights for all of us.

So in closing, I'm not gone. I'm still an artist and frankly having
someone so qualified take over is great for me as it allows me to refocus
on helping out on the issues I believe in another way while at the same
time not have the time consuming duties of making sure those thousands and
thousands of orders that go out every year get safely to your customers
and fans. We've grown every year and paid the highest in the industry
(80%) to the artists for their online and cc imprinter orders. Thank you
for allowing me through PoetCD.com to help spoken word be much more
relevant than it was 7 years ago! I'm looking forward to and cannot wait
to see what she and those she'll bring on board to PoetCD.com will do for us
in the future.
