Bio:

• Nasce nella provincia di Pisa il 18/11/1966, inizia a suonare l’armonica diatonica nel 1987 facendosi le ossa in alcuni gruppi di blues. Già dopo pochi anni collabora, con i Blues Harbour, Michael Coleman , Nick Becattini & The Serious Fun. • Si avvicina al Jazz attraverso lo studio dell’armonica cromatica, (completamente da autodidatta) ascoltando STEVIE WONDER e TOOTS THIELEMANS, ma soprattutto sassofonisti (C.Parker, A.Pepper, J.Coltrane e Sonny Stitt), e pianisti come B. Evans, Bud Powell . • Nel 1992 e nel 1993 partecipa come studente ai seminari estivi di jazz di Siena,con l’orchestra laboratorio di B.Tommaso, e le Clinics del Berklee College of Music di Boston a Perugia per UMBRIA JAZZ. • Nel 1993/94 frequenta la scuola di musica del C.A.M. di Scandicci (FI) come allievo di Luca Flores, con il quale si esibisce in concerto. Entra a far parte della DUKE OF ABRUZZI BIG BAND diretta da A.Fabbri, calcando vari teatri e auditorium della toscana con ospiti jazzisti d’eccezione come P.Fresu e M.Giammarco. Nel 1995 suona nella colonna sonora, autore Federico De Robertis, del film di Vanzina «Io No Spik Inglish» (con P.Villaggio). Partecipa come finalista all’Euro Jazz Festival di Oristano e al Summer Jazz Jazz Fest a Prato. Incide un cd live con P.Fresu. • Nel ‘96 inizia a studiare tecnica d’improvvisazione jazz ed armonia con Riccardo Arrighini, frequenta i seminari estivi di WE LOVE JAZZ ‘96 con Benny Golson, Kenny Burrel, Ron Carter, Joe Chambers, e BERKLEE IN UMBRIA , con Gorge Garzone, Ray Santisi e Greg Badolato. • Nella stagione ‘96/97 il C.P.M. di Siena come allievo di Marco Tamburini e Maurizio Giammarco. Segue i workshop tenuti dal pianista E. Pieranunzi e dal contrabbassista PALLE DANIELSSON ed il sassofonista soprano DAVE LIEBMAN. • Nel ‘97 partecipa all’ EUROPE JAZZ CONTEST di Overijse (Bruxelles). • Nel marzo 1998 registra con il pianista Stefano Bollani “Boppin’ on Harp”. Suona al Barga Jazz Festival, con E. Pieranunzi, A. Kramer, M. Giammarco, M. Tamburini, S. Bollani, P. Tonolo, S. Gibellini. Partecipa al Mentana Jazz Festival (Roma), vincendo una borsa di studio per Berklee in Umbria. • Nell’edizione di Chicago Blues Festival (‘99) e Umbria Jazz Festival ‘99 suona con la Band di Sugar Blue (al Rosa’s Lounge di Chicago), e con Pat Metheny (al Celebrate di Perugia). • Per 6 anni, insegna alla Civica Scuola di Musica di Capannori (LU). • Nel 1999 studia arrangiamento con Mauro Grossi. • Dal 2000 al 2004 fa parte del progetto »ETNOCLASSIC» , dal quale nasce il disco »ZORONGO» EMA Records. • Nel 2001 collabora con il «Vince Lateano Trio»in S.Francisco ed il viibrafonista Gerry Grosz.. In New York con P.D’Rivera e Randy Brecker. Registra il cd Wheel’s Steps.. • Nel 2002 BeatOnto Jazz, con F. Bosso, D. Scannapieco, Luca Bulgarelli, Lorenzo Tucci, Resort Playa Pesquero di Holguin Cuba. • Nel 2003 collabora nella città della Habana (Cuba), con vari esponenti del jazz e della musica popolare cubana: »Bellita y su Jazz Tumbatà»,»Barney McCall» nel jazz club »La Zorra Y El Cuervo», il »Duo Mélodias Cubanas» di Santiago.... collabora con il pianista compositore Mauro Grossi, Andrea Melani e Lello Pareti. Suona al «Plaza Atheneé» di Bangkok con la jazz singer Cherryl Hayes con ed il jazz quartet dell’Oriental Hotel di Bangkok at «The Bamboo Bar Jazz Club», ed il «Queen’s Park Hotel». • Nel 2004 nasce il progetto “Encanto Latino”, ideato insieme al bassista compositore Alberto Bientinesi. • Nel 2005 Esperanto Mediterraneo “Luca Flores 10 anni dopo” (Trattoria 4 Leoni, Firenze) con M. Calderai, Teatro delle Commedie (Livorno) con Bobo Rondelli • Nel 2006 al Cavatappi Jazz Club con Fabrizio Bosso, Colle Jazz (Associazione ToscanaJazz, Collesalvetti, LI) con Nico Menci, Davide Brillante, Guido Zorn e Piero Borri, Cavatappi Jazz Club con Sandro Gibellini, Ares Tavolazzi, Alan Farrington, Radio Tre Suite, La Stanza della Musica (RAI Radio Tre, Roma). • Nel 2007 Concerto Docenti Dip. Jazz alla Scuola Bonamici di Pisa, con Andrea Pellegrini, Il CIRCOLO LUCCA JAZZ , Umbria Jazz (Deco Hotel), con R. Sellani, G. Basso, M. Manzi, M. Morriconi. Seravezza (Toscana Jazz) con il Pisorno Jazztet, Barga Jazz 2007, con S. Onorati, G. Evangelista, A. Fabbri. A Monterosso (Cinque Terre - La Spezia) con Stefano “Cocco” Cantini e“I Poeti del Mare” con il quartetto d’archi di Toscana Jazz. • Nel 2008 Festival internazionale dell’Armonica “HARMONICA SUR CHER” a St. Agnan sur Cher, GREY CAT FESTIVAL di Follonica (GR) con il Pisorno Jazztet G. Baldacci, G. Evangelista e D. Paoletti. • Nel 2009 Nuovo disco con R. Arrighini trio “Harmonitaly”, City Vibes al Teatro Studio di Scandicci con Javier Girotto. Anna (PI)…….. .. Born on November 18th 1966 in the surroundings of Pisa, he starts playing diatonic harp in 1987, playing in various blues bands. He approaches Jazz studying "Chromatic Harmonica" (as a self taught person), inspired by Stevie Wonder and Toots Thielemans, but mostly sax players(C.Parker, S.Stitt, A.Pepper, J.Coltrane) and pianists as (Bill Evans, Bud Powell, etc.). 

In 1992 and 1993 he attends the Jazz Summer Workshops in Siena (where he exhibits with the "LABORATORY ORCHESTRA OF Bruno Tommaso")and "The Clinics- Berklee College of Music in Boston", organized in Perugia during Umbria Jazz festival. In 1993/1994 he attends the C.A.M. school of music in Scandicci (Firenze) studying with the late Luca Flores, with whom shortly after plays twice during live concerts. In the meanwhile he enters the "Duke of Abruzzi Big Band", directed by Alessandro Fabbri, playing in several tuscan theatres and concert hall (i.e. Teatro Studio di Scandicci, Auditorium Rodari" C.Bisenzio", the Palasport in Florence with Italian jazz players such as Paolo Fresu and Maurizio Giammarco. 

In 1995 he takes part to the movie soundtrack "Io No Speak Inglish" by E.Vanzina (with P.Villaggio). In the same year, together with the jazz quintet "Iridescente", he is one of the finalist at the "EURO JAZZ FEST" in Oristano and in "Summer Jazz Festival" in Prato. With the same band he records a live CD at the "Petilia Festival" in Pitigliano (Grosseto), with the trumpet player P. Fresu as a guest. In January 1996 he starts studying improvisation and harmony with Prof. Riccardo Arrighini. Later in the same year he plays in Bruxelles at "The Blues Corner "and attends summer workshops such as "WE LOVE JAZZ 96" in Genova with Benny Golson, Kenny Burrell, Ron Carter, Joe Chambers and as pupil of Ray Santisi and Greg Badolato. During 1996/1997, he takes part to the jazz winter seminars at the C.P.M. in Siena as a pupil of Marco Tamburini (trumpet player with RAF and JOVANOTTI) and Maurizio Giammarco, attending classes by pianist Enrico Pieranunzi, and the special workshops held by Palle Danielsson and Dave Liebman, with whom he performs live guest appearances.
 At the end of September '97 he takes part in the "EUROPE JAZZ CONTEST" in Overijse (Bruxelles). In 1998 recorded with S.Bollani, L. Pareti, A. Ferrua. He also performed in some jam sessions at jazz fest "Barga Jazz", playing with E.Pieranunzi, A.Kramer, M.Giammarco, M.Tamburini, N.Valiensi, P.Tonolo, S.Gibellini and others, being really appreciated. On September in the same year, he takes part at the "Mentana Jazz Festival" in Rome, with his trio, earning a scholarship for "Berklee in Umbria". In the 1999 editions of "Chicago Blues Festival" and "Umbria Jazz Festival" he plays with "Sugar Blue Band"(at the "Rosa's Lounge" of Chicago), and at the jam session with Pat Metheny (at the "Celebrate Jazz Club" of Perugia). He's currently teaching (since 1995) at the "Civic School of Music" in Capannori (Lucca). In 2000 he starts working with ETNOCLASSIC project (the one year later realesed on CD, "ZORONGO" for EMA RECORDS), is a ethnic group (with this band,he plays also in many important festivals, even for the famous actor Don Johnson). In 2001 he played with Vince Lateano in S. Francisco, and the vibraphonist Gerry Grosz. In New York with Paquito D'Rivera, Randy Brecker, Ada Rovatti and Greta Panettieri. When he comes back from the U. States, born the most important of his own work; ‘'Wheel's Steps'' (Jazz quartet), where played many songs and stiles of music: Be Bop, Samba, Bolero Cubano ecc. In the February of 2003, played in Cuba city of Havana, with Bellita Esposito and Barney McCall at the famous jazz club "La Zorra Y El Cuervo". He played also in Santiago with Duo Mélodias Cubana. He begins moreover a collaboration with an italian pianist- composer Mauro Grossi. In the autumn of the same year, he works in Bangkok with Cherryl Hayes (american singer) and others important musicians, at "The Bamboo Bar Jazz Club", "The Plaza Atheneé". Moreover with the afro-cuban jazz noneth at the "Queen's Park Hotel". In 2004 born two new project one on cuban music, 'Encanto Latino' with the bassplayer and composer Alberto Bientinesi, and "The Naples Project" on italian popular music. ..
