After recording his first album, 'Rize' in his bedroom the singer came to the attention of group Slum Village while gigging at a local Detroit club and was subsequently asked to sing on the groups album Trinity: Past, Present and Future. Since that auspicious beginning Dwele has been steadily contributing his creative genius to a plethora of projects. Most recently Dwele was featured on the commercially and critically acclaimed Kanye West album, Graduation. He provided the vocals for West's song 'Flashing Lights' and the recording garnered three Grammy nominations for the musical pair. Before that Dwele lent his vocals to Common's single 'The People' on the rapper's 2007 release 'Finding Forever'. Besides the high profile features that Dwele has to his name his solo offerings are equally as captivating to audiences. With his first major release Subject in 2003 and the sophomore follow-up 2005's Some Kinda under his belt, as well as new music not yet officially released, the singer has an extensive and impressive repertoire.Movies

About me:
Neo-soul singer/songwriter/producer Dwele(born Andwele Gardner) grew up on Detroit's west side, listening to soul music from Motown visionaries Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye as well as jazz on the radio. Dwele began writing songs at the age of ten, after his father was murdered outside his home, and attended Cody High in Detroit. Dwele spent a year studying music at Wayne State but then opted for an informal education, making music at his home while living in Dearborn and working for AAA. His demo tape, 1998's The Rize, made waves around the Motor City, and he spent time collaborating with Detroit hip-hop group Slum Village and Philadelphia rapper Bahamadia. Signed to Virgin on the strength of his songwriting and performance skills, Dwele released Subject in mid-2003 and cemented his appeal with European audiences (he was a favorite on Gilles Peterson's influential Radio 1 program) with a tour that summer. His second album, Some Kinda, followed in 2005.He just Currently released his third album "Sketches Of A Man" on June 24th 2008. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..found this love layout at HOTFreeLayouts.com :: MyHotCommentsDetails
