    Οι DIMINUITA εμφανίστηκαν πρώτη φορά με αυτό το όνομα τον Νοέμβριο του 2007,έπειτα από πολλά προηγούμενα χρόνια αγάπης και εντρύφησης σ΄αυτό το τόσο ιδιαίτερο και τόσο σπάνιο στην Ελλάδα είδος. Εργάζονται εδώ και τουλάχιστον δεκαπέντε χρόνια σαν μουσικοί, ή δάσκαλοι μουσικής. Τα τελευταία όμως δυο χρόνια ασχολούνται σχεδόν αποκλειστικά με το ευρωπαϊκό swing ή αλλιώς jazz manouche. Tην ευρωπαϊκή δηλαδή εκδοχή του swing με έγχορδα (τη λεγόμενη"τζαζ δωματίου"), όπως πρωτοπαίχτηκε τη δεκαετία του '30 από τους Django Reinhartd- Stephane Grapelli με το Hot Club de France. Παρά την μικρή χρονικά ιστορία τους , μέσα σ΄αυτό το διάστημα έχουν πραγματοποιήσει εμφανίσεις σε διάφορους Αθηναϊκούς χώρους. Ενδεικτικά αναφέρονται: Kύτταρο, Παράφωνο Jazz Club, Τσάι στη Σαχάρα, Μπαράκι του Βασίλη κ.άλ. Επίσης συμμετείχαν τον Ιούνιο του '08 στη Γιορτή της Μουσικής στο Βόλο (European music day-Βόλος) και τον Ιούνιο του '09 στην Πρέβεζα, Πάργα, Λάρισα και τέλος στην Τεχνόπολη της Αθήνας. Τον προηγούμενο χρόνο συμμετείχαν και στις εκδηλώσεις διαμαρτυρίας για το πάρκο Κύπρου και Πατησίων τον Φεβρουάριο, στο πάρκο Ναυαρίνου στα Εξάρχεια τον Μάρτη και στο Β-FEST στη Ανωτάτη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών τον Μάιο. Τον Δεκέβριο του 2008 το σχήμα πραγματοποίησε δυο μοναδικές και ιδιαίτερα επιτυχημένες παραστάσεις με τίτλο �Django Χιώτης-Μανώλης Reinhardt� σε μια προσπάθεια σύνδεσης και ζεύξης της ελληνικής μουσικής της ίδιας περίπου περιόδου, με τους ευρωπαίους τζαζίστες της εποχής. Τον Μάρτιο του 2010 το σχήμα, για πρώτη φορά εμφανίστηκε στο εξωτερικό, σε μια σειρά συναυλιών στο Wereldmuseum στο Rotterdam Ολλανδία, στο Music Village, Archiduc, Art Base και Βonnefooi στις Βρυξέλλες, στο Rosario στο Bever και στο Hot Club Reserva στη Γάνδη του Βελγίου από τις 19 ως τις 29 του μήνα. Το σχήμα κινείται στο χώρο του ορχηστρικού swing, με αναφορές στο πρωτοποριακό Hot Club, πάνω σε διασκευές των D.Reinhardt-S.Grapelli, αλλά και άλλων συνθετών της ίδιας εποχής, καθώς και σε νέες δικές του συνθέσεις. Έμφαση δίνεται στο φυσικό, ακουστικό ήχο των οργάνων, χωρίς επιπρόσθετες ηχητικές παρεμβάσεις. Τον πρώτο λόγο όμως, έχει η αυτοσχεδιαστική ελευθερία των μουσικών τόσο χαρακτηριστική, ευδιάκριτη αλλά και τόσο απόλυτη σε όλες της μορφές της τζαζ. Στόχος του σχήματος είναι μια νέας μορφής δημιουργική επικοινωνία με μοναδικό μεσολαβητή την καθαρή μουσική έκφραση, χωρίς την παρέμβαση του λόγου ή την χρήση τεχνητών ηχητικών μέσων. Καθαρός, φυσικός ήχος ακουστικών οργάνων και ελευθερία μουσικής έκφρασης με τον αέρα του swing,σε συνδυασμό με στοιχεία από την επόμενη φόρμα του bebop, αλλά και με την επιρροή της τσιγγάνικης μουσικής, τόσο προφανή σε ολόκληρη την Ευρώπη. Από τον Νοέμβριο του '08, το σχήμα συνεργάζεται με τον βιολιστή Damian Dudu. Ρουμάνος στην καταγωγή, με μακρά παραμονή στην Ελλάδα και με πολλές συνεργασίες στην ελληνική μουσική σκηνή και δισκογραφία, αλλά και με το χρώμα της παραδοσιακής μουσικής της χώρας του. Μουσικός που συνδυάζει άριστα την υψηλή δεξιοτεχνία με έναν βαθύ συναισθηματισμό. Από τον Αύγουστο του '09 στη θέση του κοντραμπασίστα βρίσκεται ο Κ.Αρσένης

    DIMINUITA firstly appeared under this name in November 2007, after many years of love and extensive research in this rare, for Greece, style of music. They have been working as musicians as well as music teachers for the last 15 years. The last 2 years, however, their main focus is on playing European jazz or as otherwise known Jazz manouche. In other words, the European version of swing with string instruments, as played for the first time in the 30's by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli with the Hot Club de France. Despite their short time together as a swing band, they have held at least 100 shows in various well known venues around Athens. Namely: Kyttaro, Parafono jazz club, Tsai sti sahara, Baraki tou Vasili, etc. They also performed at the 2008 Volos Music Festival and in 2009 they performed in Preveza, Parga, Larisa and Technopolis in Athens. The band moves around the acoustic swing, with references to the Hot Club, renditions of D.Reinhardt, S.Grapelli and other composers of that era, as well as their own compositions. The natural acoustic sound of the instruments is emphasized with the main role being given to the freedom of improvisation, so characteristic and distinct, yet as unconditional as in all forms of Jazz music. The band's main goal is a new creative style of communication with clear music expression acting as a mediator without the intervention of vocals and technical/electronic means. Clean, natural sound of the acoustic instruments and freedom of musical expression with the grace of swing, combined with elements of the next form of bebop, as well as the influences of gipsy music that is so profound Europe-wide. In November 2008, the band welcomed aboard the Romanian born violinist Damian Dudu. He has lived in Greece for many years and has played with some of Greece's greatest names in the music industry; He has taken part in a great number of recordings as a session musician utilizing the color and the traditional style of his country's music. He is a musician that perfectly combines virtuosity and deep emotion with great ease. From August 2009 Kostas Arsenis has joined the band as their double bass player. In March 2010 the group, for the first time, performed outside of Greece, in a small tour to Belgium (Music Village, Archiduc, Art Base, Bonnefooi in Brussels, Hot Club Reserva in Gand, Rosario in Bever) Netherlands (Wereldmuseum in Rotterdam).
