    English Version: Don Ciccio is one of the foremost pioneers of the Italian reggae scene. His career started in 1990 with a ragga-hip hop crew, Radical Sunshine Posse and in 1993 he, together with DJ, Fabri, formed the first reggae sound system of the Bologna scene, Vibra Sound. They promoted Jamaican music and culture, becoming a source of inspiration for several crews of Bologna and all over Italy. Whilst working with Vibra Sound, in 1995 Don Ciccio also started to work with Papa Ricky with whom he recorded an album for Virgin, Italy. This experience made him famous in the Italian scene, thanks also to video clips and the soundtrack for a film by the Italian director, Gabriele Salvatores and a T.V. appearance. It was his long run of live shows that took him all over Italy that really made his name. In 1997 and 1998 he organized the Mega Reggae Show in Bologna, a show that sees the performances of all the Italian sound systems and foreign artist as well. In 1998 he moved to London where he got in touch with veterans of the U.K. scene. This dramatically improved his musical career, increasing his large record collection and playing in tow of the more popular city clubs. His return to Italy in 2002 heralded the start of the “Don Ciccio Reggae Show”, a one man show where Don Ciccio using his long experience as an entertainer and selecta, created good vibes for all those who came to enjoy his style. In the summers of 2002, 2003 and 2004 he became art director of the “Jamaica Club “ which was, and still is, the only “traffic-blocking” club of the Taranto (Salentino) coast. In the winter season of the same years, Don Ciccio played in most of the local clubs specialising in black music, and also in big cities like Milan and Bologna. He also made guest appearances in many national and regional radio programmes in Italy. In 2004 Don Ciccio produced a ska-rock steady CD-mix “Rude Boy University” a project that was well received by the Italian reggae scene (review at www.reggae.it ) In winter 2005 Don Ciccio produced “Love University”, the first reggae-lovers compilation done in Italy. This was also the first product of his own Love University Records which he founded in 2004 with the aim of producing high quality reggae music in Italy. Love University has been presented in Italian reggae radio shows throughout Italy and also in the U.K. when, in October 2005, Ciccioman was a guest on the David Rodigan Radio show on Kiss100 and was extensively interviewed whilst playing tunes from the compilation. In December 2005 Don Ciccio was invited to play at the Rodigan Reggae’s Mass Club in Brixton London. Since September 2006 he’s held a reggae radio show that broadcasts across the major part of southern Italy and can be listened to worldwide online live every Friday from 14.00 hrs (English time) at www.ciccioriccio.it . In March 2006 the first 7” of Love University Records was released and it includes “Vorrei che Fosse Amore” sung by Patrizia Conte, and the instrumental, “Love University”, played on sax by Antonio Galasso. It was produced in Jamaica and distributed by OJ36 records (Kingston, JA) info at www.oj36records.com In July 2006 Don Ciccio as been invited to play at Rototom Sunsplash . In August 2006 Don Ciccio has been a guest of Saxon Sound at the Nottingh Hill Carnival (London) From July 2007 Don Ciccio works as radio & Tv presenter for the Rototom Sunsplash the biggest European Reggae Festival. .. .. Don Ciccio a.k.a. Ciccioman, uno dei pionieri della scena reggae italiana ha sempre unito la selezione di un reggae senza compromessi con la volonta’ di intrattenere il suo pubblico dando vita ad uno stile unico e originale. Inizia la sua carriera artistica nel 1990 con una storica crew ragga-hip hop bolognese: la Radical Sunshine Posse Nel 1993 fonda con dj Fabri il primo reggae sound system della scena bolognese, Vibra sound, che ha promosso la musica e la cultura jamaicana divenendo fonte di ispirazione per molte crew a Bologna ed in Italia. Dal 1993 al 1996 conduce un programma di musica e cultura reggae sull’emittente bolognese Radio K. Nel 1995 inizia la collaborazione con Papa Ricky che lo porta ad incidere un disco per la Virgin Italia , esperienza che lo ha reso noto al pubblico del reggae nazionale grazie non solo ai passaggi televisivi , la produzione di due video e la partecipazione alla colonna sonora del film Sud di Gabriele Salvatores, ma fondamentalmente per l’inarrestabile attivita’ dal vivo che lo ha portato ad ad esibirsi dappertutto in Italia. Nel 1997organizza la prima rassegna del reggae nazionale bolognese il Megareggaeshow che oltre a tutti i sound system Italiani ha visto la partecipazione di ospiti internazionali. Nel 1998 si trasferisce a Londra dove suona in diversi club della capitale e amplia inverosimilmente la sua collezione di dischi e la sua cultura musicale collaborando con storici personaggi della scena Londinese . Tornato in Italia nel 2002 propone la sua nuova creazione: il Don Ciccio Reggae Show. Un “one-man” show nel quale Ciccioman raccoglie la sua lunga esperienza di intrattenitore e selecta per creare vibrazioni e voglia di danzare nei piu’ attenti conoscitori e nei neofiti di questa meravigliosa musica reggae. Nelle stagioni estive 2002, 2003 , 2004 direttore artistico del Jamaica club il club che più di ogni altro nella provincia jonica ha fatto tendenza per le scelte musicali e artistiche di Don Ciccio. Le stagioni invernali degli anni sopra indicati vedono Don Ciccio protagonista in quelli che sono i più importanti club specializzati in black music in Italia . Nell’ inverno 2004 Don Ciccio produce un cd mix per collezionisti incentrato su sonorità ska e rock steady che ha avuto un grande riscontro nazionale tra gli amanti del genere come si può arguireleggendone la recensione sul web site ufficiale per la musica reggae italiana Reggae.it nella sezione recensioni. La stagione invernale 2005 vede Don Ciccio impegnato nella direzione artistica del Villanova Club famoso locale della provincia di Taranto che con l’apporto e lo stile di Ciccioman ha ritrovato una nuova verve e soprattutto il tutto esaurito dal punto di vista del pubblico . In Estate 2005 è in uscita il nuovo progetto discografico di Don Ciccio “ Love University” la prima compilation di Lovers reggae fatta in Italia che verrà distribuita sul tutto il territorio nazionale. Nel Mese di Ottobre Love University è stata presentata in U.K. da Don Ciccio al David Rodigan radio show negli studi londinesi di radio Kiss100 che trasmette in tutto il Regno Unito. Dall’Ottobre 2005 conduce uno show per Ciccioriccio un network radiofonico che trasmette per Puglia , Basilicata , Calabria e in tutto il mondo in diretta sul web al sito www.ciccioriccio.it . Ad oggi il Don Ciccio Reggae Show e’ il programma di reggae piu’ ascoltato al sud Italia al Venerdi’ pomeriggio dalle 15.00 alle 17.00 su Ciccioriccio. A Novembre e Dicembre 2007 Don Ciccio collabora con Radio Base Popolare Network per cui produce e conduce Vibez un programma che si occupa di black music a 360 gradi in onda tutti i giorni. In marzo 2006 esce il primo singolo su 7” della Love University Records che include la Vorrei che fosse amore cantata da Patrizia Conte e Love University brano strumentale suonato da Antonio Galasso prodotto in Jamaica e internazionalmente distribuito da oj36 records (Kingston -Ja) . In agosto del 2006 e’ ospite di Saxon sound al Notthing Hil Carnival di Londra e nel Novembre dello stesso anno e’ ospite della rassegna Rodigan’s Reggae curata da David Rodigan al Mass di Brixton a Londra. Il 2007 vede Don Ciccio impegnato su diversi fronti, per la sua label produce il Love University Riddim ,che vede impegnati alcuni dei piu’ talentuosi cantanti della scena italiana come Marina , Nando Popu , Treble , Dany Silk e Marjas . L’uscita su 7” riscuote una ottima accoglienza dalla critica e dal pubblico. Nel Luglio 2007 Don Ciccio viene coinvolto dal piu’ grande festival reggae europeo , il Rototom Sunsplash, come presentatore per la tv per la quale intervista le star internazionali che partecipano al festival. Ad Agosto 2007 e’ ospite per la seconda volta di Saxon sound al Notthing Hill Carnival di Londra,Sound del quale ha curato la tournee italiana nel Gennaio 2008. Al momento oltre che con la sua attivita’ live in Italia e’ impegnato alla realizzazione di un nuovo ritmo per la Love University Records di cui e’ prevista l’uscita su 7” per l’estate 2008. In Luglio 2008 e’ confermata la sua partecipazione come presentatore tv e radio al Rototom Sunsplash. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... .. ..
