  • Bio

Luigi Attademo, born in 1972, received his degree with the highest marks in 1992, at the Conservatory "G. Verdi" in Torino. He studied with the guitarist-composer Angelo Gilardino from 1990 to 1993 at the Accademia Superiore "L. Perosi" in Biella, where he received another degree with the highest marks. He was awarded in several national and international competitions, among the others the "Concours International d'Exécution Musicale (CIEM)" in Geneva (third prize, 1995). He has been invited as a guest in several festivals and he has given the first performance of many contemporary works (as the Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra "Leçons de Ténèbres" by Angelo Gilardino, or the Four Studies for guitar by Alessandro Solbiati). He also played on the Italian Radio3 RAI and Rete Toscana Classica. He attended many seminars and masterclasses: composition in music for film with Ennio Morricone, conducting with Julius Kalmar, composition with Alessandro Solbiati. Doctorate in Philosophy with a dissertation on musical interpretation he published a book about this subject. He is contributor to several specialized magazines, Seicorde, Suonare News, Il Giornale della Musica etc. He worked in the Archive of the Andrés Segovia's Foundation (Linares- Spain), to catalogue its manuscripts, and he discovered some unknown manuscripts of important composers, such as Jaume Pahissa, Alexandre Tansman, Gaspar Cassadò and others. After the discovery of new compositions in the Segovia’s Archive, he gave the first performance of several works like the Sonatina by Cyril Scott (Alessandria, September 2001), and other works by Federico Mompou, Lennox Berkeley, Fernande Peyrot etc. He recorded a CD dedicated to Scarlatti's Sonatas in 1999, and a CD with Bach transcriptions in 2000, both published by the Italian label "Niccolò". His third CD, including the Variations on Folias theme, was published in 2001. He also recorded a Cd including the most important Segovia Archive’s works (published by the Italian magazine Seicorde, 2002). The latest Cds are dedicated to Boccherini Quintets and the Segovia’s Repertoire. He works in chamber music with important partners as Fabio Bagnoli, Francesco Dillon, Francesco Gesualdi, Stefano Parrino, Cristiano Rossi, Nuovo Contrappunto Ensemble and Quartetto di Cremona.

    Salut Luigi,
