Nato a Cesena. Dopo aver studiato clarinetto al conservatorio "G.B Martini" di Bologna si interessa di strumenti popolari studiando organetto diatonico con il maestro Riccardo Tesi e bandoneòn con il maestro Hector Ulises Passarella. Si esibisce come solista e compositore alla "New York University" nella rassegna di nuovi esponenti della musica popolare italiana. Collabora come bandoneonista con Vinicio Capossela nel tour "Parole d'altrove" e sempre con il medesimo partecipa al "Premio Tenco 99" al teatro Ariston di Sanremo. Fa parte del "Tango Group" diretto dal maestro Passarella, uno dei più grandi bandoneonisti di tutti i tempi. Partecipa al "Festival Internazionale di Canela" in Brasile con il gruppo teatrale "Arrivano dal mare" come musicista. Fa parte anche come compositore ed esecutore del Miracolo di Lucheria del “Teatro delle Briciole” di Parma, esibendosi in tutti i più importanti festival nazionali ed internazionali. E’ uno dei fondatori dei “Bevano Est” gruppo di musica popolare e incide con loro il primo CD dal titolo “Gradisca” suonando clarinetto, sassofono e bandoneòn. Tiene concerti con l'orchestra Valconca esibendosi nei cinque temi per archi e bandoneòn di Astor Piazzolla. E’ insegnante stabile da sedici anni della scuola di musica popolare di Forlimpopoli, insegnando organetto diatonico, sassofono e clarinetto. Si esibisce in duo con il maestro Passarella al festival internazionale "Wexford Festival Opera" in Irlanda. Nel 1996 fonda il sestetto "Equipaggio" che esegue musiche originali. Ha composto la colonna sonora del lungometraggio "Berbablù" una produzione Vaca Movie. Premiato dalla critica dei festival di cortometraggi di Mantova, Padova, Fusignano come miglior colonna sonora del video "Abuelo". Tiene concerti e spettacoli teatrali in Brasile, Argentina, Stati Uniti, Irlanda, Francia, Germania, Austria, Spagna, Belgio Svizzera e Canada Nel 2000 Fonda “Pepe Medri e Timbuctù Orkestra” con Dimitri Sillato pianoforte e violino, Gianluca Ravaglia contrabbasso e Giancarlo Bianchetti chitarra, Il 15 aprile 2002 esce il loro primo cd dal titolo "Sala d'attesa" rappresentato in prima nazionale nella rassegna "Massalombarda andata e ritorno". Collabora con Luigi Dadina e Sergio Diotti nello spettacolo "fuler fulesta" e sempre con Luigi Dadina e Mandiaye N'Diaye in "griot e fuler" per il teatro delle albe di Ravenna. Nel febbraio 2003 suona con il trio Zampogne e Zampanò al festival "chers Amis" a Gent in Belgio. Con la Timbuctù Orkestra sta lavorando al prossimo disco in uscita entro il 2007 allargando il gruppo con l’inserimento del polistrumentista Vincenzo Vasi. Martini” conservatory in bologna, he turned his interest towards popular instruments, studying diatonic organ with teacher Riccardo Tesi and bandoneòn with teacher Hector Ulises Passarella. He performs as a soloist and composer at New York University during a review of new Italian members of popular music. He collaborates as bandoneòn player with Vinicio Capossela in the Tour “Parole d’Altrove” and they exhibit together at “Premio Tenco ’99” at Teatro Ariston di Sanremo. He is part of the “tango Group” directed by Passarella, one of the most important bandoneòn players of all time. He participates at the “International Festival of Canela” in Brazil as a musician of the theatre company “Arrivando al Mare”. He is also the compositor and executive of “Miracle of Lucheria” for “Teatro delle Briciole” based in Parma (Italy), exhibiting in all the most important national and international festivals. He is one of the founders of the popular music group Bevano Est and makes with this group their first CD entitled “Gradisca”, playing clarinet, sax and bandoneòn. He plays concerts with the “Valconca Orchestra” exhibiting in the five themes by arches and bandoneòn of Astor Piazzolla. He is a stable teacher of the Forlimpopoli school of popular music since 1991, teaching diatonic organ, sax and clarinet. He exhibit in duos with Passarella at the International “Wexford Festival Opera” in Ireland. In 1996 he founded the sextet “Equipaggio” and plays original music. He has composed the sound track of the feature film “Berbablù” a Vaca Movie production. Prize-winner by the critics of the short films festival in Mantova, Padova, Fusignano for best sound track for the video “Abuelo”. He gives concerts and theatre shows in Brazil, Argentina, United States, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland and Canada. In 2000 he founded the “Pepe Medri and the Timbuctù Orchestra” with Dimitri Sillato, piano and violin, Gianluca Ravaglia double-bass, and Giancarlo Bianchetti, guitar. On April 15th 2002, the first CD “Sala d’Attesa” exhibited as national première during “Massalombarda Andata e ritorno”. He collaborates with Luigi Dadina and Sergio Diotti in the show “Fuler Fulesta” and with Luigi Dadina and Mandiaye N’Diaye in “Griot e Fuler” for the Theatre delle Albe in Ravenna. In February 2003 he played with “Zampogne and Zampanò” at “Chers Amis” festival in Gent Belgium. With the Timbuctù Orchestra he is working on the next CD that will be ready by the end of 2007, with a new entrance, the poly-instrumentalist Vincenzo Vasi.
